As in previous years, Shine’s partners continue to support the Service with a range of resources. During the current year mentors have been encouraged to participate in a variety of training delivered by partners and stakeholders.
The Shine administrative team continues to support mentors and women at the point of a woman’s release from prison, including providing mobile phones and SIM contracts as requested. Shine Prison-Based-Champions tailor liberation packs based on the individual woman’s needs.
For Christmas 2021, Shine mentors were given chocolates as an appreciation of their support of the service. The chocolates were from Grace’s Chocolates, a company that Shine has worked alongside with and referred women to. In March 2022 Shine’s first podcast was published, coordinated by the Shine administrative team.
All staff, whether it be senior managers, front line workers or ‘back office’ staff have gone ‘extra miles’ to ensure mentors and mentees have been supported during this past year.
