Training and Awareness

Over the last year, the Partnership Manager has continued with regular mentors’ meetings. These have allowed mentors to get together and share their learning and experiences. It allows a level of peer support and engagement between mentors from all over the country. There have been different focuses at each of the meetings, such as challenges with the remand population, recovery from the pandemic, engagement with community referral sources and CMS compliance.

The Partnership Manager this year arranged Digital Champions training for all mentors, delivered on Microsoft Teams. The training aimed to give mentors the skills to be able to support their mentees become more involved in digital and connectivity. There is a plan for future training for all mentors once we have the new devices for women funded by the Digital Lifelines fund. This will involve creating set up videos of how to start using the handset as well as videos showing mentors and women essential features of the new handsets.
